The April election ballot is set. With less than a month until voters head to the polls, seats are open for O-W School Board, the Village of Withee, and City of Owen.
As for Owen-Withee School Board, Julie Wendler and Adam Simington are running. Both are incumbents.
For the City of Owen, Mayor Scott Jalling and three trustee seats are on the ballot. The three trustee candidates are Ken Martine, Pam Jaffke, and John Mauel. All are incumbents.
At the Village of Withee, Larry Klabon is running for village president and Nancy Amacher is running for village trustee. Both are new to the office.
Up north at Gilman, voters are due to see contested races for the village presidency and three trustee seats. As for the village presidency, incumbent Jane DeStaercke is facing off against Jerry Smith, former Gilman High School principal. The ballot faceoff follows the outcome of the January caucus, which saw DeStaercke and Smith chosen as candidates. Also nominated but later dropped form candidacy was Doug Alexander, receiving three votes to five for Smith and 10 for DeStaercke in caucus nominations.
On the ballot at Gilman are six candidates for three trustee seats, their names being Mark Person, Russell Baker, Karen James, Derrick Romig, Brian Mallo and Jim Czahor.
Robert Preston was nominated for trustee but declined.
At Lublin this April, voters will get to choose between Village President Randy Madlon and challenger Todd Benkowski, with Christine Compagnone, Christine Nowak, and Richard Pulcher among those nominated for trustee posts. Jim LeHouillier is also running, while Fr. Hermann Klarr was nominated at the January caucus but declined.
Closing out with Gilman School Board, there are five candidates: Lynn Rosemeyer, Derrick Romig, Holly S. Bacha, Vonda Kinas, and Josh Mann.
