The American Red Cross Blood Drive was held on Tuesday, May 12 at the Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center in Owen. While the drive fell short of the goal set by the Red Cross, 45 units were collected and one or more of those units may have saved a life. Those reaching milestones were Nathan Kuhns and Laverne Hoover, 10 gallons; John Zimmerman, 6 gallons; Gail Burbey, 3 gallons; and Seth Hoover, 1 gallon. We had one first time donor, Lakyn Wiese. Thank you to all who gave their time to donate the gift of life!
Our dedicated volunteer workers for the blood drive were: Sister Margaret Trzebiatowski, Shirley Brecht, Chriss Plautz, Joan Kovatch, Dottie Bjornstad, Sue Sholes, Nancy Tolzmann, Sue Koltis, Susan Struensee, John and Linda Barna,
THANK YOU: Noel Barteck for his delicious éclairs and members of United Church of Christ for their tasty treats, Clark County Dairy Promotion for the milk, Red Cross for the packaged treats, water and juice, Prevail Bank for napkins, Nasonville Dairy for the donation of the cheese trays and Clark County Rehab and Living Center for the use of their facility. Also, thank you to Enterprise Sentinel and Rural News, WKEB/WIGM and Central Wisconsin Broadcasting for their continuing support of the Owen-Withee blood drive.
