Blood Drive falls just short of goal

The American Red Cross Blood Drive was held on Tuesday, March 11, at the Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center in Owen. The drive collected a total of 62 units, just three units short of the goal of 65 units. With the beautiful weather, many of our donors were busy with field work. Those reaching milestones were Ivan Hershberger, 13 gallons: Randall Busse and Craig Scheinost, 2 gallons; and Carrie Heltsley and Che-Che Myher, 1 gallon. Our first time donors were Rosene Eberly, Azcar Ruyol Forges, Robert Bishop, Paul Martin, Emily Wetzel and Joan Jensen. Thank you to all our donors!
Our dedicated volunteer workers for the blood drive were: Carol Oryszczyn, Sister Margaret Trzebiatowski, Shirley Brecht, Chriss Plautz, Che Che Myher, Joan Kovatch, Dottie Bjornstad, Betty Prepluh, Nancy Tolzmann, Shirley Lehr, Marge Oryszczyn, John and Linda Barna.
THANK YOU: Ladies of Holy Rosary Church for all the delicious bars and cookies, Clark County Dairy Promotion for the milk, Red Cross for the packaged treats, water and juice, Che Che Myher and Chriss Plautz for crackers, Prevail Bank for napkins, Nasonville Dairy for the donation of the cheese trays, and Clark County Rehab and Living Center for the use of their facility.
The next blood drive will be Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in the multi-purpose room at the Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center in Owen. Please schedule an appointment to donate blood to meet the goal of 65 units. If you can’t keep your appointment, please cancel 24 hours in advance so someone else may fill that spot. You can use Rapid Pass to make appointments and also speed up the donation process. For appointments or to volunteer, please give me a call at 715-229-4320.
