On Tuesday, October 15, there was a ribbon cutting for Complete Renewal in Thorp. Complete Renewal is owned by Jessica Bunkelman, FNP who believes that healthcare should be focused on finding the root cause of issues and fixing them. She also firmly believes that healthcare and overall wellness is directly affected by what we put into our bodies and what is in our environment. She does not take insurance, but will provide a super bill that customers can submit to insurance companies themselves. She does primary care and functional medicine. Complete Renewal is located at 110 N Washington Street in Thorp. To contact them, call them at 715-560-5661 or online at www.completerenewalhw.com.
The ribbon cutting ceremony started with opening remarks from Shelia Nyberg, the Director of the Clark County Economic Development Corporation and Tourism Bureau (CCEDC), who welcomed Jessica’s new business to downtown Thorp. Then Thorp Mayor Rich Wnek spoke about how he and the city are excited about how many new businesses are coming to Thorp and how it’s great for the city and the community. After the Mayor spoke, Jill Hoff spoke welcoming Jessica on behalf of the county. Nancy Amacher spoke next on behalf of the CCEDC board, expressing her gratitude and excitement of having another business coming into the area and wishing Jessica well in her business and offered her a plant on behalf of the CCEDC. Kyle Auger spoke next on behalf of the Thorp Chamber of Commerce and welcomed Jessica to speak.
Jessica spoke, thanking everyone for coming before explaining her background and passion in nursing and healthcare. Because of her degrees, she can write prescriptions and perform labs. “While traveling and going to school, that’s when COVID hit during 2020 and it kind of changed how I thought of healthcare and I kind of noticed how we were giving medications to fix concerns brought up by other medications and that’s not exactly something that I wanted to do or went to school and dreamed of myself doing. So you’ve also noticed that patients concerns were kind of brushed off and that was normal. And that wasn’t always the case. So I decided to teach myself a bunch of information and I ended up deciding to open up my own practice here and focus on the more natural side of things, providing options for clean products, for body care, for hair care, cleaning, as well as supplements and finding the root cause of things and hoping to help everybody feel the best they can. So I can do the traditional medicine but I also dabble in the other stuff so it makes it a well rounded clinic”
She went on to thank her family and friends for their support and is looking forward to spending the next years serving the surrounding areas. After that, there was the ribbon cutting and people were invited to look around the office and have snacks and refreshments and to answer any questions that people might have had.
