The Gilman Area Rural Fire Department held its annual pancake breakfast on Saturday, March 21 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Celebrations Hall in Gilman, with several raffles. Firefighters and their families staffed the event, with event goers treated to a menu which included sausage, pancakes, applesauce, cheese curds, block cheese, and milk, with syrup provided as well.
Meal prices for the breakfast were set at $5 for ages 5 to 12 and $8 for adults (ages 4 and under were free), the annual pancake breakfast saw approximately 400 people in attendance, with $17,000 raised after expenses for the fire department. The Ladysmith Freemasons Masonic Lodge of Ladysmith donated a Fire Suppression Tool (FST) to the Gilman Fire Department at the event.
