Trustee nominations are in from Gilman for the April election.
Meeting Wednesday, January 14 in the village hall at 5:45 p.m., the 2026 Village of Gilman Caucus nominated incumbents Cheryl Rosemeyer, Dee Bornheimer, and Ericka Motte to succeed themselves as trustees for another two-year term.
Rosemeyer was nominated by Jane DeStaercke and seconded by Mark Person. Bornheimer was nominated by Russell Baker and seconded by Tom Tallier. Motte was nominated by Cheryl Rosemeyer and seconded by Russell Baker.
Nominations will now be sent to the county to prepare ballots as directed by the caucus for all qualified candidates.
Following the January 14 caucus the village board held its regular monthly meeting. The village moved to purchase a Toolcat for public works use from Swiderski’s for $64,500 after trade-in, while delaying a decision on Country Wireless putting their equipment on the city water tower, pending more information.
The village board meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the village hall at Gilman. The public is invited to attend.
