The morning was cloudy, wind calm and temperature in the 70s when 16 devoted golfers showed up for the weekly Fun League at Meadowview Golf Course. Again, a few new golfers decided to join those that participate each week. Captains were selected to head up four teams. Remaining team members were selected by drawing cards to compete using the Scramble format. With this format all golfers hit each shot and the best shot is chosen to advance. Competition was keen as all golfers made excellent shots while contributing to their team. Scores of the teams were 31, 32, 33 and 33 with 36 being par. The winning team, shooting 5 under par 31 consisted of captain Kert Boie with Kevin Kaduce, Tony Friedenfels and Carol Raatz. Hole prizes were won by Rick Raatz, longest putt on hole #9 and Kert Boie being closest to the pin off the tee on hole #2. The Fun League is held each Tuesday at Meadowview Golf Course throughout the summer. Show up early, no later than 9:30 a.m. for registration and team selection with tee-off scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Come and enjoy a low stress round of golf.
