With the temperature in the low 40s and a slight breeze, five truly avid golfers showed up at the Meadowview Golf Course for the 24th week of the Tuesday Fun League. Being the only ones on the course, all five, bundled up with several layers of clothing, headed to the first tee. Teams were Kert Boie and Dennis Kieser (youngest and oldest) challenging Dennis Wilson, Buck Michlig and Richard Wachsmuth. The game format was a scramble where all members of a team hit their shot and choose the best shot to play as they advance toward the green. The game was close throughout as each team pulled off great shots from the fairway and on the green. At the end of the round both teams ended up tied with par 36 scores forcing a sudden death playoff. On the first playoff hole Kert and Dennis got a birdie to pull off an exciting win. All walked off the course feeling good about their role in how their team performed. The Fun League is held each Tuesday at Meadowview Golf Course throughout the spring, summer and fall. The next outing will probably be next spring. Watch for announcements on the Meadowview Golf Course web page or Facebook page for information. Come and enjoy a low stress round of golf with other golfers that enjoy the game.
