Following a late night, early morning lightning and thunderstorm with a little rain, 15 staunch golfers showed up for the weekly Fun League at Meadowview Golf Course. Four captains were selected to head up the teams. Remaining team members were selected by drawing cards to compete using the Scramble format. This scramble format did not allow for any given golfer to use their drive on two consecutive holes. With the course in great condition, all four teams finished and reported to the clubhouse with great scores of 34, 34, 35 and 35 with 36 being par. The winning team, shooting 2 under par 34 consisted of captain Mark Schmidt teaming up with Dennis Wilson and Rick Raatz. Their birdie on the #1 handicap hole, hole #7 clinched their first place standing. Hole prizes were won by Jerry Hester, longest putt on hole #9 and Kert Boie being closest to the pin off the tee on hole #2. The Fun League is held each Tuesday at Meadowview Golf Course throughout the summer. Show up early, no later than 9:30 a.m. for registration and team selection with tee-off scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Come and enjoy a low stress round of golf.
