The sky was cloudy but the temperature was in the 70s and slightly humid. A perfect day for golfing as 15 anxious golfers showed up at Meadowview Golf Course for the weekly Tuesday Golf Fun League. The course again was in excellent condition. Five 3-person teams were formed with assigned captains being Kert Boie, Scott Strzok, Jack Wendler, Rick Raatz and Scott Jalling. The remaining team members were selected through a card draw. This week’s game format was the 3-Person Scramble. In this format each team member is assigned a number 1, 2, or 3. The drive of team member 1 is used on holes 1, 4 and 7 and member 2 on 2, 5 and 8. The drive of member 3 is used on 3, 6 and 9. The competition was extremely close as the teams finished up with rounds of 41, 38, 37, 35 and 34. After some confusion and in-depth discussion, the winning team scoring 34 was determined to be Scott Strzok, Bob Arimura and Bruce Bednar. Rick Raatz’s shot on hole #2 was closest to the pin and Rick also made the longest putt on hole #9. The Fun League is a weekly event held at Meadowview Golf Course during the spring, summer, and fall. Each week, a different version of the Scramble format is played, ensuring that everyone gets a fresh and exciting experience. To participate, arrive early by 9:30 a.m. to sign up and be assigned to a team. Tee-off is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Join us for a relaxed round of golf that promises to be both enjoyable and rewarding.
