Another beautiful day for golfing at the Meadowview Golf Course for the weekly Fun League. A partly cloudy sky with temperatures in the low 70s, inching up to upper 70s brought 12 avid golfers to the golf course. Three teams with four members were formed. The game format was a scramble where all members of a team hit their shot and choose the best shot to play as they advanced toward the green. An added twist was that on the green was the Big Cup which should help the good putters. Three captains, Kert Boie, Kevin Kaduce and Scott Strzok were selected to head up their respective teams. Remaining team members were selected by drawing cards. Teams were evenly matched again as reflected in team scores of 31, 33 and 34 with 36 being par. The winning team, shooting 5 under par 31 consisted of captain Kert Boie teaming up with Dennis Wilson, Rick Raatz and Richard Wachsmuth. Hole prizes were won by Ev Rhyner, longest putt on hole #9 and Kert Boie being closest to the pin off the tee on hole #2. The Fun League is held each Tuesday at Meadowview Golf Course throughout the summer. Show up early, no later than 9:30 a.m. for registration and team selection with tee-off scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Come and enjoy a low stress round of golf.
