Dedicated golfers are still golfing at Meadowview Golf Course, especially when taking advantage of a most beautiful day, the last day of September. A partly cloudy sky with temperatures in the mid-70s brought 11 avid golfers to the golf course. Two teams with four members and one team with three were formed. The game format was a scramble where all members of a team hit their shot and choose the best shot to play as they advance toward the green. An added twist was that no golfers drive could be used on two consecutive holes. Three captains, Kert Boie, Scott Strzok and Dennis Wilson were selected to head up their respective teams. Remaining team members were selected by drawing cards. Teams were evenly matched again as reflected in team scores of 34, 34 and 35 with 36 being par. The winning team, shooting 2 under par 34 consisted of captain Kert Boie teaming up with John Boss, Dennis Kieser and Betty Rhyner. Hole prizes were won by Dennis Wilson, longest putt on hole #9 and Richard Wachsmuth being closest to the pin off the tee on hole #2. The Fun League is held each Tuesday at Meadowview Golf Course throughout the summer. Show up early, no later than 9:30 a.m. for registration and team selection with tee-off scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Come and enjoy a low stress round of golf.
