As summer progresses with warming days and while golf course conditions keep improving, more avid golfers are showing up to the Tuesday morning Golf Fun League. This week, 21 exuberant golfers showed up and paid their $2 entry fee to compete for the available prize winnings. Five teams were selected by drawing cards to play using a revised Scramble format. No player could have their drive used on consecutive holes. This adds an extra element of planning when preparing to play the next hole. Again, competition was keen with all teams scoring well. Scores of the teams were 37, 36, 34, 34 and 32 with 36 being par. The winning team, shooting 4 under par 32 consisted of captain Jerry Hester with Dale and Carol Raatz, Buck Michlig and Dennis Kieser. Hole prizes were won by Dale Raatz, longest putt on hole #9 and Dennis Kieser being closest to the pin off the tee on hole #2. The Fun League is held each Tuesday at Meadowview Golf Course throughout the summer. Show up early, no later than 9:30 a.m. for registration and team selection with tee-off scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Come and enjoy a low stress round of golf.
