Lublin Days has a new event coordinator for 2026, and his name is Marvin Wulff.
Chosen Thursday, June 4 at a meeting following regular village board, Wulff will coordinate the annual celebration that takes place each year in Lublin over the last weekend of July. With fun and games to come, stay tuned for details on Lublin Days this summer.
“What we need to do for this year is get along and have a celebration,” Trustee John Lorenz said of Lublin Days. Fireworks will be handled through the village for insurance purposes, while the question of making a non-profit for future years was not acted on. Among the reasons for a non-profit are billing, with bills currently coming to the village through October.
As for actions from the regular board meeting prior, board members voted to renew current alcohol licenses held by the Legion and Kolve's Corner Bar.
Kolve's opted not to renew its tobacco license as cigarettes were deemed expensive. A discussion was held on a dance at Kolve’s, with no vote being taken. Key to the discussion was maintaining a clear roadway on nearby County Highway A.
Moving forward meanwhile, the village board voted to raise fees for liquor licensing, to bring these in accordance with other communities. Motion was made by Trustee Christine Compagnone and seconded by President Christine Nowak to set license fees at $200 for class B liquor and $100 for malt beverage. The picnic fee was raised from $5 to $10, motion made by Compagnone and seconded by Lorenz.
The next village board meeting at Lublin is Tuesday, July 7 at 6 p.m. in the village hall. The public is welcome to attend.
