Minette “Mickey” Wendland, age 71, of Withee, passed away on June 3, 2026 at Marshfield Medical Center.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the arrangements.
Mickey was born on June 26, 1954, the daughter of Ralph and Carol (Perrodin) Berndt in Milwaukee. She took piano lessons at a young age, learned to fly small aircraft and enjoyed equestrian lessons and events. In 1987, Mickey moved to the Owen-Withee area. She went back to college graduating from UWEC with a Master’s degree in Music, becoming a music teacher in Medford, Rib Lake and Owen-Withee.
Mickey was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen, played organ and was active in the church choir. She was also active in the Chamber Chorale and solo ensemble at Owen-Withee High School. Mickey was an accomplished musician and could play almost any instrument.
Mickey is survived by her two daughters: Ginny Wendland and Sam (Ronan) Quinn; her grandson, Anthony Wendland; three sisters: Heidi (Steve) Holland, Judy Bondioli and Valerie (Rodger) Luebke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Tom Berndt and brother-in-law, Wayne Bondioli.
