Owen Centennial fundraiser held

The Centennial Committee held a fundraiser at A&W over the weekend. I'd like to thank all the sponsors of the gift baskets for the raffles and the committee members for volunteering their time. Thanks to Tim Nolan for representing the Historical Society at our event. Also a big thank you to Dee and her crew for letting us host the event there. Thanks to all who came out and contributed to our fundraising efforts and made this a huge success.

I was able to attend two milestone birthday parties over the weekend. Frank Olszewski turned 90 and Jean Sailer, who is currently out at the CCRLC, turned 98. It was an honor to spend time with them as I have known them both for 50 plus years.

Owen will be holding their clean sweep on Saturday, May 4 from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Owen City Garage.

DPW will be flushing water mains from May 6 to May 15.

I would like to congratulate Paul Heggemeier on 15 years of service on the O-W School Board.

Until next time. Have a good week.
