The Centennial Committee is selling raffle tickets as a fundraiser for next year's 100 year celebration. The deadline is quickly approaching to purchase these tickets, as we will be drawing the winner on Saturday, July 13 at this year's Owen Junior Fair. If you would like to purchase raffle tickets, please contact myself or any Centennial Committee member. You can also get tickets at Owen City Hall.

We are also taking orders for Centennial t-shirts or hoodies. Contact Cindy Cardinal if you are interested in putting in an order to purchase one of these.

In addition, we are putting together a commemorative book that will be available for purchase the beginning of 2025. We are looking for stories or pictures of events or businesses over the past 100 years to be included in this book. Also, a reminder to those that want to advertise in this book, please get ads submitted soon.

Tim Nolan and his class of 1985 have purchased a half page ad spot in the commemorative book and are challenging all other classes to do the same. I'm proud to announce that my class of 1981 has accepted his challenge and will be purchasing an ad spot also. If any other classes are interested, please contact Phil Greschner or myself within the next 3 to 5 weeks.

I would like to give a HUGE thank you to Norby Pabich for his generous donation of $5,000 for the Centennial celebration. His love for the city of Owen is beyond measure.

The city council and I had a great learning experience with a tour of the water and sewer plants. Thanks to Chad and Matt for the amazing job that they do. Also a thanks to the CCRLC for allowing us to use one of their buses for the tour (and Dominic for driving us).

Congratulations to the O-W Blackhawks that participated at the State Track Meet.

Until next time. Have a good week.
