Color Our World Summer Reading Program
All Summer long, the Withee Library will be offering a series of reading challenges and activities. Try our Bookmark Challenge, where you get rewarded for every book you complete, just fill out our special bookmark’s questions of title, author, and a brief description of what the book was about. The bookmarks are available free at the Withee Library. We will also be having a “Color Our World Art Day” on Friday, July 25, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. You can make jewelry, stickers, and more. You can also paint a variety of figurines that include everything from Wizards to Aliens. Paint as many as you want, and they are yours to keep. Also try our “Famous Book Character Scavenger Hunt” hidden throughout the Kids Room. Win a prize when you complete the hunt.
Statewide Postcard Advocacy Campaign
The federal budget is being hashed out as you read this post. There’s a very real possibility that funding for public libraries will be stripped out of the budget. The Institute of Museum and Library Studies is small, but the impact is huge. If you want to support thriving public libraries, contact your members of Congress now. Even easier, stop into the library and fill out a postcard telling your representative why libraries are critical to your community.
Withee Library hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Notice: The library will be closed Friday, July 4th for Independence Day.
