On August 1, 2005, Lyle Roe began duties as sexton at Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Lyle considers helping people at a delicate time in their lives as one of the most rewarding things about the job. Throughout the past few months Lyle has been working with Roger Niemi, the new sexton hired by the Cemetery Board. Roger officially began his duties on October 1, 2026. Riverside Cemetery Board is comprised of the leaders of Owen (Mayor Scott Jalling), Withee (President Larry Klabon) and Hixon Township (Chairperson Dean Krueger) along with Pat Blazer, Owen, who serves as Secretary/Treasurer; John Barna, Hixon Township; and Nancy Amacher, Withee, who serves as board president. Booklets with information about pricing and policies can be obtained from the mailbox on the front of the office building at the northeast corner of the cemetery. Interested parties also can email riversidewithee@yahoo.com. The cemetery board is grateful for Lyle Roe’s dedicated service and looks forward to working with Roger Niemi to maintain the reputation of its beautiful and well-kept grounds.
