The County Highway G bridge over the Black River northwest of Greenwood shows signage has been placed to alert drivers to new weight limits on the bridge that went into effect earlier this week. These restrictions will be in place until the old bridge is replaced next summer.

The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) governing board members of Clark County met Thursday, June 27. “There’s been an $8 million cut to the Older Americans Act in 2024. It hits our home-delivered meals the hardest, “said (Lynne) McDonald (director of the Clark County ADRC). “I don’t know if we’ll have home-delivered meals in five years,” she said. “The National Council on Aging focused on modernizing senior centers, but not home-delivered meals. Some counties only deliver two days a week and frozen meals.”

Loghan Amborn of Greenwood High School has received the Outstanding Early Career Teacher award from the Wisconsin Association of Agricultural Educators.

The dog park discussion that has been dormant for about two years resurfaced at the Abbotsford City Council meeting on July 17. The discussion, which ended at a meeting in July of 2022 with the creation of a dog park at Shortner Park North, was had after some residents brought their wishes to add a dog park closer to the middle of the city to alderperson Sara Dietrich.

Mike Eslinger, age 26, of Boyd, recently took a motorcycle trip—but not just any trip. Mike rode 8,500 miles on his KTM1190 Adventure motorcycle, an Austrian adventure touring motorcycle, to the Arctic Ocean.

The council discussed and approved the City of Stanley Employee Handbook updates regarding resignation for employees and department heads. Beginning on August 1, sixty days’ notice will be required for department heads that are resigning while all other employees will need to give fourteen days of notice.
