The village of Granton has a new clerk/treasurer and a new head of the village waterworks to replace former waterworks operator and temporary clerk/treasurer Jared Thomas, who announced his resignation earlier this spring. Cole Minsaas has been hired as the new clerk/treasurer and Ryan Wieselman has been hired as the new head of the village waterworks.
The 50th annual Willard Polka Fest was held at the Willard Community Center this past weekend, with dancing on Saturday and Sunday.
The Branstiter “Old Streets of Greenwood” Museum received a new donation on June 11 as Mary Ann Wunderlin donated a 1938 Chevrolet Master Deluxe that had been owned by her father, John Snedic, the former mayor of Greenwood.

June 14, a convoy of nearly 90 vehicles—51 semis, 28 personal vehicles, one bus, two motorcycles and two Wisconsin State Patrol escorts—set out from the Clark County Fairgrounds in Neillsville to tour the local area in the 28th Annual Make Their Hearts Smile Make-a-Wish Convoy.
AARP announced 11 projects in eight Wisconsin cities, including Neillsville, will receive 2025 AARP Community Challenge grants totaling a combined $103,500. The Neillsville Improvement Corporation will receive a $7,000 grant to transform a brushy area next to the community walking trail into a creekside greenspace with an accessible picnic table, bench, and pathway.

Karen Andruskiewicz’s memory and commitment to Thorp was honored with a new bench, plaque and petunia tree in Garrison Park earlier this month. Andruskiewicz was a founding member of the Thorp Pumpkin Fest, a clarion voice for the Clark County Choraliers, a member of the Thorp Beautification Club and was involved in local banking for 62 years.

A major gift from Mike Tomsyck, Vice President of Transportation and Risk Management for Kolbe Windows and Doors, and his wife Julie will help shape the future of the D.R. Moon Memorial Library renovation. Speaking at the June 16 Stanley City Council meeting, Tomsyck announced the couple’s plan to donate all the windows for the library project with a personal pledge of $175,000 to cover any potential change orders.
The City of Stanley received a $21,000 grant on behalf of the Stanley Fire & EMS Department to acquire a LUCAS device, a critical piece of life-saving equipment used during cardiac emergencies.
