There has been much discussion about the future of the 1987 Clark County Jail Museum. The public property committee has received bids to raze the structure. A communication plan about the future of the jail museum is being sent to the Wisconsin Historical Society. No other action has been taken regarding the museum.

There will be a new face helping coordinate athletics at the School District of Thorp for the 2026-27 school year after the Board of Education hired John Keefe as an elementary physical education/athletic director on July 15.
The School District of Thorp will be implementing a new way of influencing students’ behaviors in the coming years, doing away with traditional detentions in favor of a “restorative justice” approach the Thorp High School principal Mike Dombrowski and Thorp Elementary/Middle School principal Brandon Baldry believe will be more productive.

The Stanley Fire Department has new battery powered lifesaving tools to replace its hydraulic ones. The new tools totaling $35,000 in cost include a Storm Surge ESLC 30 cutter, Storm Surge ES 100-28 spreader, and Storm Surge TNT Rescue Ram with extensions. Their purchase was made possible by donations from Martino’s Restaurant as well as Chippewa Valley Electric Cooperative.
The Stanley Boyd School Board received an update on the main entrance project at its July board meeting, with unforeseen delays making door number 1 the entry to school through September.
