O-W Archers compete in National Competition at Daytona Beach

The OW Archers flung arrows with nearly 3,000 other fourth through 12th graders at the National Archery in the Schools competition held at Daytona Beach June 6-8 and competed against kids from 49 states. Husband and wife coaching team, Paul and Teri Ruggles were there to encourage, advice and enjoy in their young archers success.

National Tournament Scores

In the 3D tournament the MS team scored 1506, had 56 tens and ranked 31 out of 47 teams. Results of the 3D individual scores:

This is the first trip to the National Tournament for the O-W Archers and by the results of this successful season, will not be the last.

State Rankings

The OW Archers have completed a season loaded with tournaments and have seen great success. According to the NASP rankings for the 2023-34 season, many OW Archers have made it to the top half of the list. MS archer Reegan Ruggles is ranked 8th out of 103 in the state in 3D and 36th out 308 in 10/15-meter range. Also ranking for MS girls in 10/15-meter range: Delanie Hatlestad 57th, Olivia Nelson 68th, Sydnee Ruggles 85th, Maggie Ebert, 120th, Shea Stolfi 211th, Hailly Wilczek 239th, and Adelynn Petersen 245th ; 3D rankings: Sydnee Ruggles 21st, Olivia Nelson 45th, Maggie Ebert 50th, and Shea Stolfi 88th.

For elementary girls, 10/15 range, out of 115, McKenzie Wilson is ranked 18th, Cora Simenson 31st, Aaliyah Serocki 38th, Maisie Looker 57th, and Aubree Serocki 66th; and 3D out of 57, Maisie Looker ranked 36th.  In state high school girls’ competition Taylor Rue was ranked 79 out of 104 in 3D and 107 out of 284 in 10/15 range.

State rankings for the EL boys 10/15-meter range out of 118: Jacob Nelson, 10th , Mike Wells 20th, Owen Greschner 57th , Archer VenRooy 68th, Dominic Stolfi 70th, Huner Wilczek 93rd, and Mason Yeager 107th; 3D out of 55: Jacob Nelson 13th, Mike Wells 14th, and Dominic Stolfi 27th. Middle School state rankings for 10/15-meter range out of 374: Easton Ruggles 16th, Tucker Hatlestad 23rd, Will Simenson 98th and Orion Wilczek 114th; 3D out of 124: Will Simenson 37th, and Easton Ruggles 63rd.  In high school boys Austin Yeager ranks 130 out of 290 in 10/15-meter range.
