O-W blood donors help replenish the blood supply

The American Red Cross Blood Drive was held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at the Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center in Owen. The drive collected 62 units, exceeding the drive goal. Those achieving milestones were Anne Teska, 10 gallons; Kathleen Grambort and Nancy Tolzmann, 9 gallons; Eugene Brubacher, 8 gallons; Faith Hoover and Paul Martin, 4 gallons; and Connie LaSee and Victor Schiszik, 3 gallons. Our first time donors were Jane Laabs, Deborah Spotte and David Horning. Thank you to all for stepping up to donate the gift of life and replenish the current blood shortage.
Our dedicated volunteer workers for the blood drive were: Shirley Brecht, Carol Oryszczyn, Che Che Myher, Sister Margaret Trzebiatowski, Tracy Rau, Sue Sholes, Laurie Shilts, Margie Oryszczyn, John and Linda Barna.
Everyone enjoyed ice cream treats donated by the Owen Free Masons (Owen Masonic Lodge). The use of a freezer for the day was donated by Northwoods Sales. Chriss Plautz donated crackers, Red Cross again brought the packaged treats, water and juice with Prevail Bank donating napkins, Nasonville Dairy donated the cheese trays, Clark County Dairy Promotion donated the milk, and Clark County Rehab and Living Center the use of their facility. Also, to the Enterprise Sentinel and Rural News, WKEB/WIGM and Central Wisconsin Broadcasting for their continuing support of the Owen-Withee blood drive. Thank you to all.
The next blood drive will be Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in the multi-purpose room at the Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center in Owen. Please consider scheduling an appointment to donate blood in advance. If you can’t keep your appointment, please cancel 24 hours in advance so someone else may fill that spot. For those who can’t make an appointment, mid-afternoon is usually a good time for walk-ins. You can use Rapid Pass to make appointments and also speed up the donation process. For appointments or to volunteer, please give me a call at: 715-229-4320.
Again, thank you to everyone who helped make this drive a success!
