The American Red Cross Blood Drive was held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center in Owen. The drive collected 74 units, surpassing the goal of 58 units. Thank you to all those who came out and donated blood. Those achieving milestones were Rosemary Murphy, an amazing 25 gallons; Marlin Zimmerman, 6 gallons; Mahlon Shirk, 5 gallons; Joseph DeGroot, 3 gallons; and Vernon Martin and John Barna, 2 gallons. First time donors were Joel Brubacker, Warren Hoover, Willard Zimmerman, Grace Leinbach and Sharon Fox. Thank you to all who finished off the year by generously donating this holiday season. All who donated received a Red Cross tee shirt.
Our dedicated volunteer workers for the blood drive were: Shirley Brecht, Sister Margaret Trzebiatowski, Laurie Shilts, Sue Sholes, Nancy Tolzmann, Betty Prepeluh, Chriss Plautz, Tracy Rau, Linda and John Barna.
Thank you: Anonymous donation of Christmas treats, Red Cross for the packaged treats, water and juice, Chriss Plautz for crackers, Clark County Dairy Promotions Committee for the milk, Prevail Bank for the napkins, Nasonville Dairy for the donation of the cheese trays and Clark County Rehab and Living Center for the use of their facility. We would also like to thank Enterprise Sentinel and Rural News, WKEB/WIGM and Central Wisconsin Broadcasting for their continuing support of the Owen-Withee blood drive.
The next blood drive will be Tuesday, March 10, 2026, in the multi-purpose room at the Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center in Owen. Please consider scheduling an appointment to donate blood in advance. If you can’t keep your appointment, please cancel 24 hours in advance so someone else may fill that spot. If anyone wants to donate and needs a ride, please give me a call. We can possibly arrange a ride for you.
Wishing you all a very happy 2026! Enjoy the snow!
