The Owen Downtown Revitalization Committee (DRC) is planning for an Adopt a Flowerbed program next spring. As it gets harder to find people to weed and maintain the flowerbeds they have around town, they are asking community members to step up and become a part of keeping Owen beautiful. A community member or even a group of friends can adopt one of the flowerbeds and help with keeping it weeded throughout the summer. Everyone can help as their schedule allows. Look for more details in the spring. Help is also needed for watering the hanging baskets during the summer. The more volunteers that help, the lighter the load.
The Farmers Market is done for the year and had a very successful summer. Plan to be a vendor next year if you are able. If not, help support the vendors who do come by purchasing their locally grown produce and fresh baked goods.
The DRC is looking for a new member. If you think you might be interested, attend a meeting to learn more.
