The Owen Planning Committee met on Thursday, February 19. The first item on the agenda was to approve a city building permit for Green Grove Supply. Their state approved plans are done. They still have dirt work to finish before construction begins.
The second item on the agenda was the sale of property on Heartland Drive. The property is near the current driveway into the property on the east edge of Owen. Wild Hearts Daycare would like to purchase two acres of land. They have outgrown their facility on Central Avenue in Owen and would like to build a bigger facility. They offered $8,000 for the property. Water and sewer are already stubbed into the area and their driveway could come off the existing driveway. State approved plans will be required for the proposed 40’x60’ building. The owner said the facility will not only give them more room, but it will provide easy access off of Highway 29 for those dropping off their children. The Planning Committee voted to move the proposed land sale to the city council.
