The American Red Cross Blood Drive was held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at the Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center in Owen. The drive collected 64 units, falling short of the goal of 73 units. Those achieving milestones were Constance Rybski, 13 gallons; Edwin Nolt, 12 gallons; Victoria Looker, 8 gallons; Wayne Brubacker, 5 gallons; and Dorcas Hoover, 4 gallons. Donating for the first time was Kayla Eberly. Thank you to all who finished off the year by generously donating this holiday season. All who donated received a Red Cross t-shirt.
Our dedicated volunteer workers for the blood drive were: Shirley Brecht, Carol Oryszczyn, Che Che Myher, Nancy Tolzmann, Betty Prepeluh, Chriss Plautz, Tracy Rau, Wanda Sommer, Marge Oryszczyn, Linda and John Barna.
Thank you to the volunteer workers who donated cookies, Red Cross for the packaged treats, water and juice, Che Che Myher for crackers, Clark County Dairy Promotions Committee for the milk, Prevail Bank for the napkins, Nasonville Dairy for the donation of the cheese trays and Clark County Rehab and Living Center for the use of their facility.
The next blood drive will be Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in the multi-purpose room at the Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center in Owen. Please consider scheduling an appointment to donate blood in advance. If you can’t keep your appointment, please cancel 24 hours in advance so someone else may fill that spot. You can use Rapid Pass to make appointments and also speed up the donation process. For appointments or to volunteer, please call Linda Barna at: 715-229-4320.
Again, to everyone who helped in any way, thank you for the GREAT job! Together we are saving lives.
Happy New Year!!
