Samuel T. Satonica, age 98, of Owen, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Aspirus Stanley Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee. The Rev. Elizabeth Bier will officiate. Family and friends are welcome from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the arrangements.
Samuel was born on May 18, 1926, the son of Rudy and Anna Satonica in Pennsylvania and moved to Wisconsin in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Alaska. Samuel was united in marriage to Ida Peterson in 1952. He worked for Western Condensing in Owen for many years.
Samuel loved hunting and umpired softball and was a coach for a girls softball team. He later pitched horseshoes and became a Class B Champion. Most importantly, Samuel loved and cherished his family.
Samuel is survived by his wife of 72 years, Ida; three sons: Wayne (Cyndi) Satonica, Rodney Satonica and Martin (Carol Anne) Satonica; 13 grandchildren: Sharlene Rainbow, Sara Millicent, Sharlotte Meyer, Liberty Satonica, Keith Satonica, Jennifer Satonica, Jacqulene Satonica, Kyle Satonica, Tina Viellieux, Nicole Viellieux, Robin Viellieux, Kassandra Viellieux and Danielle Viellieux; 12 great-grandchildren: Suzi, Linnea, Lily, Levi, Jed, Joseph, Liam, Kaitlan, Peyton, Shawna, Nathan and Nicholas; and eight great-great-grandchildren, Joseph, Jerric, Jensen, Riley, Roray, Stephanie, Cora and Samantha.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Johnny, Thomas, Nick, Daniel, Christina, Sarah, Mike, and Dorothy.
