On Sunday, December 28, 2025 at 11:19 p.m., the Gilman Rural Fire Department was dispatched to locate a juvenile that had walked away from his home and was last seen walking into the woods west of State Highway73 and Shiner Dr, southwest of Lublin. With assistance from Taylor County Sheriff's Deputies a search was started by following the juvenile’s footprints in the snow. Wings of Hope – Wisconsin was called to assist with their thermal imaging drone which was deployed despite harsh conditions. After following footprints through the woods and along the roads the juvenile was located safe around 2 a.m. Monday, December 29, in a wooded area near the intersection of 6th Ave. and Roosevelt Dr. in the township of Roosevelt. The juvenile was checked out by Gilman Ambulance and was released to the family with no transport.
The Gilman Rural Fire Department would like to thank the Taylor County Sheriff's Department, Taylor County Dispatch, Taylor County Emergency Management, Taylor County/Aspirus Ambulance Services and Wings of Hope.
