Classes are forming for the Strong Bodies programs in Greenwood. Classes will be held at the Greenwood High School in the old gym located at 306 W Central Ave., Greenwood. These classes will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. beginning Tuesday, May 5. This class will be 12 weeks long, ending July 23.
The suggested contribution is $20, which is used to expand and fund the program to all locations across Clark County.
Strong Bodies is an evidence-based, progressive strength-training program throughout the United States. Its goal is to improve the health and well-being of middle-aged and older adults by increasing access to structured, safe and effective strength training programs. Scientific research has demonstrated that exercise with weights will increase strength, muscle mass, and bone density in middle-aged and older adults. This will in turn, reduce the risk for numerous chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis and arthritis.
