The Dorchester Village Board continued the process to find a new village attorney at the regular board meeting. The board unanimously moved to accept a proposal from Weld Riley attorneys out of Eau Claire following discussion on the matter.

Mandela Barnes came to Stanley-Boyd last week, coming to Stanley-Boyd High School Friday, January 9 to answer student questions. The candidate for governor, whose full name is Jesse Mandela Barnes, came to Stanley-Boyd High and took questions from students in Robert Seidl’s American Government and Kayleigh Steinmetz’s English 11 classes.
Stanley Police Chief Lance Weiland filled in the city council on police matters. Weiland shared that four staff had received free training on a WRAP restraint device December 17, the city having two such devices. WRAP is used for combative individuals to ensure their safety as well as that of officers and medical personnel.
