The Law Enforcement/Emergency Management Committee met January 22 to review a grant funding update. The discussion centered around the committee’s pursuit of grant funding for fire department initiatives, specifically regarding the Innovation Grant and its limitations. The committee initially believed the grant would cover 100% of the costs for a fire department addition. Upon further investigation, it was clarified that the grant only funds the creation of entirely new entities, not enhancements to existing ones. The committee planned to continue researching alternative grant opportunities and expects to have more information at upcoming meetings.
