Barbara, the 16-month-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Barager gave her parents a real scare when she swallowed the eye from one of her toy kittens while playing in bed Friday afternoon. Her mother suspicioned that she may have swallowed the eye, which had an inch long steel shank on it, when she took her playthings from her bed after she had gone to sleep. Barbara began regurgitating frequently and it was then that x-rays taken at the office of Dr. B.H. Dike confirmed her parents’ suspicions. The youngster was immediately rushed to Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, when it was believed that surgery might have to be performed. Upon arriving at the hospital, additional x-rays showed that the object had dropped into the intestines so it was deemed advisable to wait for further developments. Fortunately the baby passed the object at 1:30 Sunday morning and is now home feeling quite normal after the exciting experience.

The attractive new office space is mainly furnished with the old furniture. The original council table and oak chairs were made by Gene Sutter over 50 years ago.
