U.S. Marshals were in the city of Owen on Tuesday, March 25 to arrest Bernard David Hale on an out-of-state warrant. Hale was working as a traveling CNA at Clark County Rehabilitation & Living Center and renting a room at the Woodland Hotel on Central Avenue in Owen. He had no ties to the Owen-Withee area.
The U.S. Marshals got a call from the jurisdiction looking for Hale, who is believed to be from Wyoming, that he might be in Wisconsin and were asked to check it out. Hale is wanted for negligent homicide.
About a half dozen marshals arrived in Owen on Tuesday and made the arrest. Hale didn’t resist. He was taken to the Clark County Jail, where he was still incarcerated as of this past weekend, while waiting for the charging jurisdiction to pick him up.
