Korenuk’s Heating & Cooling, owned by Doug and Breanne Korenuk, is open for business at 210 N. Washington Street in Thorp. A ribbon cutting was held on Friday, April 10, where they were joined by family and friends.
Sheila Nyberg from Clark County Economic Development & Tourism Bureau (CCEDC & TB) welcomed everyone for coming. She then turned things over to Thorp Chamber Chair Jack Syryczuk. He said he has known Korenuks for a little over a year and they are hardworking people.
Thorp Mayor Richard Wnek said that downtown Thorp now has only three empty buildings left on the main drag. He said that Doug and Breanne do a good job and he is happy they chose the city of Thorp. He wished them good luck!
Nancy Amacher and Peter Kaz represented the CCEDC & TB at the event. Amacher presented Korenuks with a plant. She said that she knows how hard it is to run a small business and wished them continued success.
Doug Korenuk thanked everyone for coming. He said they started working on getting the former Denny’s TV building ready in January and they are excited to begin the next chapter. Doug said they work on furnaces, central air, water heaters, basically anything HVAC. He added that they couldn’t have done it with the support of their customers, families and friends. He promised to continue providing quality service and to give back to the community.
After the official ceremony, there was cake and visiting for all in attendance.
