Curtiss Corners Quilt Club held its September meeting on Monday, September 21, 2026 and called to order at 7 p.m. with 13 members attending. At the 2026 Quilt Show in August, 151 patriotic quilts were donated to Never Forgotten Honor Flight organization. Quilts were gifted to veterans traveling on the 57th flight of Never Forgotten Honor Flight to Washington DC which took place on Monday, September 21, 2026. This service project represents the collaboration, charity and social support of a quilting community and when united can result in life-changing moments simply through pieces of fabric and a common goal.
Thanks to all visitors who attended the 2026 Quilt Show. Prize basket winners were Lorean Jensen, Inge Austin, Bev Brandl, Glory Maxam, Kay Rinehart and Sue Klapatuskus.
Curtiss Corners Quilt Club hosts its annual quilt show the first Saturday in August. We are making arrangements for an even better show in 2027 which will include a Friday night preview. Reserve the dates of Friday and Saturday, August 6 and 7, 2027 and plan to attend the next show. Theme is Denim & Daisies.
Quilt Tip for September is to always buy extra fabric. There is nothing worse than starting a project and working for a few hours and then running out of fabric! Get more fabric that you probably need: recommend adding 1/4 yard to the requirements. Let’s be real, you’ll figure out what to do with any extra!
