The time has come to start thinking about what you might like to include in the time capsule that the Owen Centennial Committee will be packing at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 19. What items would you include to show what Owen was like in 2025?
The time capsule that was packed in 2000 and opened this April included such things as menus from area restaurants, a piece from the newspaper, dog tags, programs from area events, a library card, a bank statement, a church history, letters, the 2000 census, the 2000 Blue Book, buttons, photos, a DARE t-shirt, etc.
Now it is your turn to be part of history. Decide what you would preserve to tell someone in the future about the city of Owen in 2025. Bring it to Mill Pond Park on July 19 to be included in the Centennial Time Capsule.
