Withee Days is right around the corner on June 19-21. On Friday night at 6 p.m. the Lions would like to try something new this year, something that was done at Withee Days long ago. They need your help. They are planning an extra special talent show. Maybe you sing, play an instrument, dance, tell jokes, do magic tricks, or have some acting talent. Or maybe you write poetry or would like to recite a passage from a favorite book that has special meaning for you. Whatever your talent, the Lions would like to give you an opportunity to show it off on Friday, June 19 from 6-9 p.m. Take this opportunity to surprise your friends and neighbors with how talented you are! You can sign up by calling Nancy Amacher at 715-223-5316 or on the web at https://tinyurl.com/WitheeTalent or using the QR code on the O-W Lions Facebook page. They are requesting that people sign up ahead of time. The Lions also emphasize this is not a contest, it is just for entertainment.
Also, new this year is a quilt display on Saturday, June 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Curtiss Corner’s Quilt Club will be showing off the 100+ quilts that have been made for Never Forgotten Honor Flight. Club members will also be hosting demonstrations and offering handcrafted quilts for sale. The quilts will be presented to veterans returning from a Never Forgotten Honor Flight in the near future.
Sandra Wenzel Lindberg will be at the Withee Library on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to talk about her book Lingering Shadow. But she has added two more times for the public to meet her and learn more about her book. Sandra will be by the Alfa Holm Pavilion on Saturday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and on Sunday near the chicken dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. She will have copies of her book available for purchase and will sign them for you. Sandra is looking forward to meeting old friends and students who were taught by her mother, Phyllis.
