Friends of the Old School will have a presentation on the “Life of a Lumberjack and Logging in Wisconsin” on Saturday, October 12 at 6:30 p.m.
The one hour talk will be given by Kerry Bloedorn, director and curator of the Rhinelander Pioneer Park Complex. The Complex houses six museums, including logging, railroad, Civilian Conservation Corp, barracks and a sawmill.
Bloedorn will speak on the topic, which is of interest to the Owen community, because of its logging history. The John S. Owen Lumber Co. came to the area because of the possibility of a Mill Pond.
FOSI president Laurie Shilts said, “It is a historical presentation for the city’s 100th anniversary in 2025.”
A free willing offering will be taken.
