Meadowview Country Club held their annual men's club championship this past Saturday. After nearly 40 years of a Devine winning it, Josh Jalling was crowned the new club champion after beating Bill Devine by one shot. Previously Bill Devine had won 38 out of 40 times, only being beat once by his brother, Tim Devine, and one tie with his son Quincy Devine. Congratulations Josh!
Also, congratulations go out to Mason Gay for being awarded the state’s most valuable 8-man player of the year. Congratulations also to Dominic Sherwood for being nominated for this award.
Just a reminder that this coming Saturday, July 19 we will be continuing the city's 100-year celebration with another exciting event. There will be horse pulls followed by the filling of the time capsule at 5:00. If you have any memorabilia you would like to contribute, please bring it to the millpond at this time. We will be selling food until 10:00 and beverages until the fireworks are done. The Marshall Star Band, featuring Wally Pietrzen, will be performing from 6:00 until 10:00, which will be the start of Big Daddy's fireworks. Come out and celebrate the Centennial with us.
Until next time, have a good week.
