Dear Editor:
I view recent actions by our president understanding one simple truth, if they do not financially benefit him and his very rich benefactors, or gain him additional power they would not happen.
The illegal invasion of Venezuela is to secure their vast amounts of oil for exploitation by American oil companies. His repeated concern about drug trafficking evaporated with the pardon of Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, who had been convicted in the U.S. of helping smuggle more than 400 tons of cocaine into the U.S. It is not a coincidence the invasion was timed to take place to keep anyone from discussing his attempted insurrection on January 6, 2021. He continues to support Israel during a ‘cease fire’ that has seen over 400 Gazans killed because he envisions moving the population of Gaza to make room for seafront casinos and luxury hotels. He refuses to take a firm stand against Russia because he wants access to the large amounts of rare earth minerals in Ukraine. He continues to threaten more military action in Iran where there is more oil to be had. Look for American troops on the streets of Nuuk, Greenland, an expedited push to build a road through the most pristine parts of Alaska, and a ruling to allow billionaire friends Larry and David Ellison to purchase Warner Brothers and CNN. Trace all of it back to more power and money for Trump. He works for millionaires and billionaires, not average Americans.
Trump denies food to needy Americans, eliminates healthcare for millions, removes protections for clean air and water, deports our neighbors and now invades foreign countries. Where are the Republican legislators that could stop this madness? They are either bought and paid for or afraid to utter a sound for fear of losing their jobs. It is we, the people, that must speak up before this narcissistic old man does even more damage to the country we all love.
