Starting this year is the Golden Feather Award. Once a month this award will be presented to a staff member (one for the elementary and one for the middle/high school) nominated by someone in the community. Staff members (cooks, teachers, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, principals, administrative assistants, custodians, guidance counselors, and anyone else who works at the school) are eligible for one award per school year. How are they chosen for this honor? That is where YOU come in. To win, the staff member needs to be nominated by a parent, student, peer, or community member who had a great experience with them. All you have to do is fill out a nomination form when you see something worth recognition. The staff member and the nomination will be featured on the O-W school website, our school district Facebook page, and the local paper. That’s not all. The staff member will receive $25 in Chamber Bucks and the person who nominated him or her will receive a token of appreciation. Not only is this a win for the staff members, and a win for the nominator; it is a win for the school, a win for the community, and a win for the ones who matter most - the students!

To be on the committee you must have email access and contact the elementary office by September 13, 2024. Five community members will be randomly selected from the interested candidates. Donations to the award can be made in the elementary office under the Golden Feather Gift Fund.
