On Monday, May 13, A&W opened in Colby at 1210 N. Division Street, the location of the former Hardees building. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Sheila Nyberg, the executive director of the Clark County Economic Development Corporation and Tourism Bureau (CCEDC & TB) made the introductions and opening remarks alongside Jenny Jakel, representative from the AbbyColby Crossings Chamber of Commerce. Mayor James Schmidt spoke next on behalf of the City of Colby and as a representative of the CCEDC & TB Board. The CCEDC & TB offered Dee Wells a plant to welcome this new A&W addition to the area. Wells had the chance to speak next and thanked everyone that made this possible. This is her fifth A&W location that she is opening and it will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. The ceremony finished with the ribbon cutting and inviting people to stay around for the official opening at 10 a.m.
