A crisp October day with the sky clear, winds calm and temperatures in the low to mid 50s brought nine passionate golfers to Meadowview Golf Course for the 25th weekly Golf Fun League. There was dew on the greens and across the well-groomed fairways as the golfers teed off. Team captains assigned this week were John Boss, Buck Michlig and Scott Jalling. Three teams were chosen randomly through the drawing of cards. The game format this week was the Dice Scramble. In this format each player hits their tee shot, a die is thrown and the number rolled determines the shot to be used. At times, the roll of the die caused the teams to use their worst shot. The three teams all shot fine rounds as they reported to the clubhouse with scores of 40, 38, and 36. The winning team members shooting 36 included Scott Jalling, Dennis Kieser and Louis Young. The hole prizes, closest to the pin on hole #2 was won by Dennis Wilson while Scott Jalling rolled in the longest putt on hole #9. The Fun League is a weekly event held at Meadowview Golf Course during the spring, summer, and fall. Each week, a different version of the Scramble format is played, ensuring that everyone gets a fresh and exciting experience. To participate, arrive early by 10:00 a.m. to sign up and be assigned to a team. Tee-off is now scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Join us for a relaxed round of golf that promises to be both enjoyable and rewarding.
