The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is no longer using Flock Safety cameras. On September 10, 2026, I notified Flock Safety that the Sheriff’s Office was canceling its contract and discontinuing the program in Clark County.
As Sheriff, I have a responsibility both to provide our deputies with effective tools to keep our communities safe and to listen to the people we serve. I heard the concerns expressed by Clark County residents regarding the use of this technology, including concerns about privacy, and I took those concerns seriously.
After considering those concerns and evaluating the use of Flock cameras in Clark County, I determined that discontinuing the Flock system was the appropriate course for our community.
I appreciate the residents who took the time to ask questions and share their views. Public trust is essential to effective law enforcement, and that trust requires us to listen to the people we serve.
Sheriff Kerry Kirn
