Curtiss Corners Quilt Club (CCQC) held its October meeting on Monday, October 19, 2026, and called to order at 7 p.m. with 15 members attending.

CCQC organizes an ongoing effort to support those undergoing cancer treatments. This outreach is called Quilting for Cancer. In this effort, the club sells craft items at local farmers markets and area craft sales, then donates all proceeds to assist those who are undergoing cancer treatments. The club purchases fuel cards to help with transportation expenses. You will find CCQC at upcoming holiday craft sales on November 7 at Greenwood High School, November 21 in Stanley at All Saints Catholic Church and December 12 at Owen-Withee High School. Buying a gift can be a little challenging but when you are buying the gift to support neighbors in need then it becomes more than just a gift.

Quilt Tip for October is to create a relaxing sewing space by implementing three strategies. Start by adjusting your posture. Sit in a supportive chair and take regular breaks to stretch your neck and back so physical tension does not build up. Set the mood by brewing a cup of tea, lighting a candle, or playing soft music to build a calming ritual before you start. Finally, clear clutter. Tidy your workspace so you feel organized rather than overwhelmed by stray fabric scraps and tools.

Meeting adjourned at 7:52 p.m. Next meeting is Monday, November 16, 2026, at 7 p.m. at Curtiss Community Center and all are welcome to attend three meetings before committing to join the club. Follow us on Facebook at Curtiss Corners Quilt Club to stay informed on club activities.
