Donate blood and give the gift of life

The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the last appointments available at 4:45.
Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors. With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished. Community members who donate blood help ensure that patients in local hospitals have a supply of blood ready and waiting before an emergency occurs. There’s no better feeling than knowing that your blood donation may give someone a second chance at life. Donors of all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, B negative and A negative. According to the Red Cross, type O negative is the universal blood type that can be safely transfused to anyone, and is often used to treat trauma patients. The majority of the current open appointments are between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome when there are openings, but it is best to have an appointment. Please help reach the goal of 58 units by filling those openings. Those donating will receive a $15 gift card by email and successful donors will also get A1C testing for pre-diabetes or diabetes.
Students, 16 years old (with parental consent) and over, are encouraged to start a lifetime of donating blood. Using Rapid Pass will allow donors to complete required reading, health history and registration online before entering the donation area. If you cannot keep an appointment, cancel in advance so the time is available for someone else. Please come and donate to help this drive reach its goal. For appointments or any questions concerning the Blood Drive, call the Red Cross at 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or Linda Barna at 715-229-4320. You can also call me if you are in need of a ride to the blood drive.
