The morning was clear, calm and sunny with temperatures starting in the 60s and slowly climbing toward 80 as 12 earnest golfers showed at Meadowview Golf Course for the weekly Tuesday Fun League. The course was in great shape with golfer’s shots going extra distance. Golfers were divided into three teams through a card draw, with team captains Mark Schmidt, Scott Strzok, and Deron Underdahl leading the way. Each team played an Odd-Even scramble format, where the best drives are chosen on the odd numbered holes and the worst drives used on the even numbered holes. As always, the team scores at the end of the round were very close, with scores of 36, 36 and 33. The team with the lowest score, a 3 under par 33, included Deron Underdahl, LeRoy Wellman, John Boss and Dennis Kieser. Hole prizes went to Deron Underdahl, who was closest to the pin on hole #2, and Dennis Kieser, who made the longest putt on hole #9. The Fun League is held every Tuesday at Meadowview Golf Course during the spring, summer, and fall. Each week, we play a different version of the Scramble format, so everyone gets a fresh and exciting experience. Please arrive early, by 9:30 a.m., to sign up and be assigned to a team. Tee-off is set for 10:00 a.m. Come and enjoy a relaxed round of golf that’s sure to be fun and rewarding.
