Getting further into the summer, the days are getting warmer, the sun brighter and Meadowview Golf Course fairways getting dryer for the 20 enthusiastic golfers that showed up, paid their fee to sign up and compete for the available prize winnings. Five teams were selected by drawing cards to play using another revised Scramble format. This format involved a single dice that was thrown to determine which drive would be chosen. Again, competition was keen with all teams scoring well. Scores of the teams were 38, 37, 36, 35, and 34 with 36 being par. The winning team, shooting 2 under par 34 consisted of captain Scott Strzok with Mary Meyer, LeRoy Wellman and Tony Friedenfels, who is playing in the Fun League for the first time. Hole prizes were won by Tom Myhre, longest putt on hole #9 and Mark Schmidt being closest to the pin off the tee on hole #2. The Fun League is held each Tuesday at Meadowview Golf Course throughout the summer. Show up early, no later than 9:30 a.m. for registration and team selection with tee-off scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Come and enjoy a low stress round of golf.
